Teologi Praxis Eklesial: Refleksi Fundamental atas Praktik-Praktik Gereja dalam Perspektif Teologi Praktis Kontemporer

Abstract

Artikel ini mengkaji konsep praxis eklesial sebagai titik berangkat refleksi teologis. Dengan merujuk pada karya-karya teolog dari tradisi Eropa, Amerika Latin, dan pendekatan berteologi kontekstual di Asia, tulisan ini menelusuri bagaimana praktik-praktik Gereja tidak sekadar berfungsi sebagai aplikasi doktrin. Liturgi, katekese, evangelisasi, pelayanan karitatif, pendampingan spiritual, dan lain-lain justru tampil sebagai loci theologici autentik — tempat kebenaran iman mewujud dan diuji dalam sejarah. Secara khusus, artikel ini menyajikan rekonfigurasi teologi praktis yang diusulkan oleh Groupe de Santiago, sebuah forum riset internasional permanen yang mendorong pergeseran paradigma dari teologi pastoral sebagai ilmu terapan menuju teologi fundamental praktik-praktik eklesial. Gagasan tersebut kemudian didialogkan dengan konteks Asia, terutama melalui pendekatan teologi proyek yang dikembangkan di Fakultas Teologi Wedabhakti, Yogyakarta.

This article examines the concept of ecclesial praxis as a starting point for theological reflection. Drawing on the works of theologians from European and Latin American traditions, as well as on approaches to contextual theologizing in Asia, it explores how the practices of the Church do not merely function as applications of doctrine. Liturgy, catechesis, evangelization, charitable service, spiritual accompaniment, and other practices emerge instead as authentic loci theologici, places where the truth of faith takes shape and is tested in history. In particular, the article presents the reconfiguration of practical theology proposed by the Groupe de Santiago, a permanent international research forum that promotes a paradigm shift from pastoral theology understood as an applied science toward a fundamental theology of ecclesial practices. This proposal is then brought into dialogue with the Asian context, especially through the approach of “project theology” (teologi proyek) developed at the Faculty of Theology Wedabhakti, Yogyakarta.
