Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between transformational leadership and innovative work behavior in generation z employees, born between 1997 and 2012. The hypothesis proposed is that there is a positive relationship between transformational leadership and innovative work behavior in generation z employees. The participants in this study were 462 generation z employees. This research used a quantitative approach with distributing scale through Google Form, including the Transformational Leadership Scale (a = 0.955) developed by the researcher and a adaptation version of Janssen’s Innovative Work Behavior Scale (a = 0.870). The data in this study were analyzed using Spearman’s Rho nonparametric test due to the non-normal distribution of the data. The analysis result indicates a positive significant between transformational leadership and the innovative work behavior in generation Z employees (rs = 0.184; p = < .001).
