Astrid Reza graduated from the History Department of Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, in 2010, writing the Indonesian women's herstory movement. She writes broadly on literature, art, and history across various media. She has translated many books about social politics, history, feminism, and literature. She is one of the founders and active members of RUAS (Ruang Arsip dan Sejarah Perempuan – Space for Women Archive and Herstory) Indonesia, based in Yogyakarta. With RUAS, she is researching the “Periodization of Women’s Movement in Indonesia”. She is currently continuing her graduate studies in the Cultural Studies Department of Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta, as a scholarship awardee for BPI 2023 focusing her thesis on Mia Bustam.
