Tembok yang Bicara: Grafiti Demonstran di Gedung DPRD DI Yogyakarta dalam Perspektif Agonisme

Abstract

Artikel ini menganalisis secara kritis keberadaan grafiti yang muncul di gedung DPRD Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta saat demonstrasi menolak RUU TNI pada bulan Maret 2025. Gedung tersebut merupakan bangunan cagar budaya (telah ditetapkan melalui Keputusan Gubernur Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta Nomor 76/Kep/2023), sehingga tindakan mencoret dindingnya kerap dilihat sebagai kriminalitas. Namun, melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode semiotik, artikel ini menggali makna dari peristiwa tersebut, bahwa grafiti menjadi bentuk ekspresi politik yang mencerminkan krisis representasi dan absennya ruang dengar formal bagi rakyat. Artikel ini menggunakan perspektif Chantal Mouffe tentang demokrasi agonistik yang menempatkan konflik sebagai elemen esensial dalam demokrasi yang sehat. Dalam konteks ini, grafiti menjadi praktik politik yang menantang hegemoni narasi “kesantunan” dan “budaya lokal” yang sering digunakan untuk menindas bentuk-bentuk perlawanan alternatif. Hasil pembacaan menunjukkan bahwa tindakan mencoret dinding seharusnya tidak dibaca sebagai kriminalitas semata, melainkan ekspresi dari kehendak hadir mereka yang selama ini disingkirkan dari forum formal. Grafiti juga menjadi medium untuk membuka ruang publik yang lebih terbuka terhadap konflik, perbedaan, dan perlawanan.
